LIVE Tri-Cities with Barbara Finch

DEFINE TRI-CITIES IN YOUR OWN WORDS

Tri-Cities is Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, and Terrell Hills.

WHY IS TRI-CITIES YOUR FAVORITE AREA?

I have lived in Alamo Heights, Olmos Park and Northwood since 1971. The area has the feel of a small town within a larger city, yet is convenient to downtown, shopping, the airport, the Pearl district and plus has traffic. My children attended Alamo Heights Schools from elementary through high school. Therefore, when I started my real estate career when my children were young I focused on this area and have been focusing on it ever since!

WHAT MAKES TRI-CITIES SO SPECIAL?

One of the most unique aspects of this area are the variety of homes from historic cottages to modern or grand estates both old and new.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO LIVE IN TRI-CITIES?

Tri-Cities has so much to offer. Some of my favorite things about this area are the trendy shops and amazing restaurants restaurants. I also have the choice of five upscale grocery stores within 3 miles, and at least four coffee shops. I love spending time at the Alamo Heights neighborhood pool and walking on the Alamo Heights track or down the beautiful tree lined streets. And the minimal traffic is always a plus.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TRI-CITIES RESTAURANTS?

Some of my favorite restaurants are Cappy’s, Piatti’s, SoLuna and Paloma Blanca. They all have charming outdoor dining and great food. These are the restaurants I always recommend to my relocation clients who are new to town!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TRI-CITIES MENU ITEMS?

You can’t go wrong with the Ahi Tuna at Cappy's, the butternut squash ravioli at Piatti’s, the crabmeat & avocado salad at SoLuna, or the table-side guacamole at Paloma Blanca!

WHAT IS A GREAT TRI-CITIES OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE?

I love walking down our tree-lined streets, dining outdoors, and swimming in the Olympic pool at San Antonio Country Club.

WHAT IS A TRI-CITIES EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED?

There are many! I love the neighborhood 4th of July parade, going to the farmer’s market on the weekends, plus it’s always fun to take a tour of the neighborhood Christmas decorations, people really pull out all the stops!

WHAT IS A PLACE TO TRULY DISCONNECT IN TRI-CITIES?

When it’s time to unwind you can find me joining friends for happy hour at Piatti’s. Not only are the cocktails great but you will always run into someone you know from the neighborhood!

WHAT'S YOUR SOURCE OF PASSION FOR REAL ESTATE?

I have never thought of myself as a “saleswoman” in real estate because I genuinely enjoy helping people buy and sell homes. Both my mother and mother-in-law were interior designers, so I could always visualize the potential of homes and help my clients visualize the potential, too. Real Estate has turned into a life-long career, and I have been lucky enough to meet so many amazing people who aren’t just clients but friends.
