It’s no surprise that I love helping my clients buy and sell real estate. After all, real estate is in my DNA. Growing up, both parents were in the building and real estate industries. My father encouraged me to get my real estate license as a teenager so I could have a career when I graduated from UCLA, where I studied business and design.
I started selling real estate in the competitive and rewarding Santa Barbara, CA market. Once I fulfilled my clients’ residential needs, I helped them secure profitable investment properties. Later I partnered with my mother to start our own brokerage firm, and I also became a licensed painting contractor and supervised crews to remodel and update residential and investment properties. My fluency in Spanish is extremely helpful and was honed by living six childhood years in Puerto Rico and three of my adult years in Mexico City.
I love tackling the many steps required to prepare a property for sale. The process might begin months before the property hits the market. My design skills are helpful in creating a low yet impactful budget for updating, staging and showcasing each property, and my clients are pleased how this thorough preparation results in achieving the highest sale price quickly.
One of the skills of which I am most proud is my strength in negotiating - which does not simply end when the buyer and seller agree on a price. Throughout the contract period, issues can arise that must be managed properly to keep the process moving forward to a successful closing. Having personally sold many of my own homes, I understand the process from both a personal and professional viewpoint. You can always expect the highest levels of attention, patience, and service from me. And, now married for 26 years and having raised four children, I am no stranger to conflict resolution. So I am a good person to have in your corner to attend to unexpected obstacles and to interact and negotiate successfully with the agents of prospective buyers for your home.
Beyond real estate and design, film is one of my greatest passions. My husband Jimmy and I have been members and supporters of the Austin Film Festival and the Austin Film Society since relocating to Austin 14 years ago. We are continually attending film events and festivals throughout the year. Our other favorite local charities include Inside Books Project, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Meals on Wheels, KLRU, Special Olympics Texas and Make-A-Wish.
