My definition of North Central is from Olmos Park to Shavano Park.
WHY IS NORTH CENTRAL SA YOUR FAVORITE AREA?
I have an affinity for homes in neighborhoods that are a little off the beaten path, and you can find many of those in North Central San Antonio. While I love the city's most established neighborhoods like Elm Creek and Alamo Heights, I know how to find those neighborhoods that are a little under the radar.
WHAT MAKES NORTH CENTRAL SA SO SPECIAL?
For such a sprawling city, everything is close, including the people. We tend to work, play and give back together.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS NORTH CENTRAL SA?
Castle Hills area actually has a few great places—Clementine is a new spot by John Russ that's outstanding. Sushihana has unique Japanese fare and the freshest fish. What I love about this part of town is from here, you can be downtown at Nonna for Italian in 10 minutes, or at Silo by The Dominion for Oysters on the patio in the same amount of time. Maverick is another new hot spot downtown—great atmosphere and patio!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MENU ITEM IN NORTH CENTRAL SA?
The fresh fish at Fujiya on Wednesdays and the chispas at El Marisol.
WHAT'S A GREAT OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE IN NORTH CENTRAL SA?
Phil Hardberger Park is an oasis in the middle of town. This stunning natural area is surrounded by some of the most desirable neighborhoods and amenities. I love to walk the trails and explore the Lake|Flato-designed Ecology Center.
WHAT'S A HIDDEN GEM IN NORTH CENTRAL SA?
Denman Estate Park just off I-10 is a beautiful city park with a pond and a Korean monument, gifted by our sister city in Korea. It’s the perfect place to pack a picnic and get some sunshine in. What makes this area so special are all of the charming little neighborhoods that are hidden right in front of us.
WHAT ARE THE BEST PLACES TO SHOP IN NORTH CENTRAL SA?
The area is filled with local boutiques. Some of my favorites are at the Alon Town Center and in Castle Hills.”
