A native of rural West Virginia, she grew up learning commercial real estate in her family’s third generation business, where she now serves on the board. She is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia’s real estate program, where she majored in Real Estate and minored in Finance.
Marla has been a broker for 15 years in New York City where she closed over $100- million annually. It is my passion, my obsession. The first thing I do every morning before I have a coffee is look at the new inventory to market.”

Marla is a music enthusiast who has studied piano since the age of four. While residing in New York, she taught piano in an after-school program at George Jackson Academy in the Lower East Side. She presently volunteers and fosters for Greater German Shepherd Rescue of Houston. Travel is a high priority for Marla. Having lived abroad in Spain, Austria, Australia, and Italy, every year she travels to a new country that she hasn’t seen. She is married to Executive Chef Restaurateur, Daniel Berg. They are parents to a young baby boy and two rescue dogs, June Carter and Rusty. Marla and her family are members of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and on the board of the Tarrytown Boat Club.
